This guide will help you get started using Suno.AI to create music for or with your students!
Click on the dropdown arrow to read more.
Suno.AI is an artificial intelligence tool that generates unique songs, including music, vocals, and lyrics, based on text prompts you provide. No musical experience needed!
Engage Students: Music can make learning more fun and memorable.
Foster Creativity: Gives students a new medium for creative expression.
Alternative Assessment: Students can demonstrate understanding by creating songs about concepts.
Cross-Curricular: Applicable in ELA, History, Science, Math, World Languages, Music, and more!
Time-Saving: Quickly generate background music or examples without searching libraries.
Go to the Website: Open your web browser and go to www.MrG.fyi/suno
Sign Up/Log In: You can sign up for a free account using your Google account, or email.
Click "Create": Once logged in, find the "Create" button (usually prominent on the page).
Enter Your Prompt: In the text box labeled "Song Description" or similar, type a description of the song you want. Be descriptive!
Example: "The process of photosynthesis for 9th graders."
Example: "From the perspective of a suffragette."
Choose a Style: Below the prompt box, you might see an option to add a style (e.g., "Pop," "Rock," "Classical," "Hip Hop," "Ballad," "Electronic"). Adding a style helps guide the AI.
Example Prompt with Style: "historical ballad, female vocals, folk."
Click "Generate": Click the button to create the song. Suno usually generates two versions for you to choose from.
Listen and Share: Suno will process your request and provide links to play your generated songs. You can listen, regenerate if needed, or share the link with others.
Teach the Concept: Deliver your lesson on the water cycle (Evaporation, Condensation, Precipitation, Collection).
Introduce Suno.AI: Show students how to access Suno.AI and create a simple song (maybe create one together as a class about a different, simple topic).
Student Task: Assign students (individually or in small groups) to create a song that explains the stages of the water cycle.
Prompt Ideas: Encourage students to write their own lyrics or use a prompt like:
"Explain the water cycle step-by-step in a catchy pop song."
"Write a song about a water drop's journey through evaporation, condensation, and precipitation, in a folk style."
Creation & Sharing: Students use Suno.AI to generate their songs. They can then share the links with you or the class.
Assessment: Evaluate student understanding based on the accuracy of the scientific explanation in their song lyrics and structure.
Start by creating a song about yourself to get comfortable.
Encourage students to experiment with different prompts and styles.
(REQUIRED) Discuss responsible AI use with students.
Consider using it for creative writing prompts – generate a song and have students write a story based on its mood or lyrics.
